- Forming water-repellent silica-based networks via sol-gel chemistry
- Chemically grafting onto inorganic surfaces (e.g., glass, silica, metals)
- Reducing interfacial tension between fillers and matrices
The ethoxy groups hydrolyze more slowly than methoxy analogs (e.g., USi-6101), providing better process control and lower volatility, while the methyl group imparts flexibility and moisture resistance.
