- The three ethoxy groups hydrolyze more slowly than methoxy groups—reducing odor, improving pot life, and allowing uniform film formation
- Forms covalent Si–O–M bonds with metal oxides (e.g., SiO₂, Al₂O₃), ensuring long-term adhesion and resistance to leaching
Compared to its methoxy counterpart (USi-6121), USi-6122 is preferred in applications requiring gentler reaction kinetics, lower VOC emissions, or compatibility with ethanol-based systems.
