    Silane USi-6127 is a high-purity methyldichlorosilane (MDCS)—a highly reactive chloro-functional organosilane featuring one methyl group and two chlorine atoms bonded to silicon. It serves as a critical building block in the production of methyl hydrogen silicone fluids, methyl vinyl silicone monomers, amino silanes, and other specialty organosilicon compounds. Due to its extreme sensitivity to moisture, it must be handled under strictly anhydrous and controlled conditions.

    USi-6127 contains both a reactive Si–H bond and two hydrolytically unstable Si–Cl bonds, making it uniquely valuable in organosilicon synthesis:

    • The Si–H functionality enables hydrosilylation reactions with unsaturated compounds (e.g., alkenes, alkynes)
    • The Si–Cl groups readily undergo alcoholysis or hydrolysis, allowing conversion into methoxy, ethoxy, or silanol derivatives
    • Acts as a key monomer in the production of methyl hydrogen polysiloxanes—essential crosslinkers and modifiers in RTV silicones, release coatings, and functional fluids

    ⚠️ Important: MDCS is highly reactive with water, releasing corrosive HCl gas, and is flammable and toxic. It is not intended for direct use as a coupling agent or surface treatment—but exclusively as a chemical intermediate.

    🔹 Production of Methyl Hydrogen Silicone Fluids

    • Primary monomer for synthesizing (CH₃)(H)SiO-containing polysiloxanes
    • These fluids serve as:
      • Crosslinkers in addition-cure (Pt-catalyzed) silicone systems
      • Adhesion promoters and surface modifiers
      • Release agents and water repellents

    🔹 Synthesis of Methyl Vinyl Silicone Monomers

    • Used in co-hydrolysis/condensation with vinyltrichlorosilane to produce co-monomers for high-performance silicones with tailored cure profiles and mechanical properties

    🔹 Intermediate for Amino & Other Functional Silanes

    • Reacted with ammonia or amines to produce aminoalkyl methylchlorosilanes, which are further converted to commercial amino silanes (e.g., aminopropyl methyl dimethoxysilane)
