    Silane USi-6227 is a high-purity dichlorodimethylsilane (DMC)—a foundational chloro-functional organosilane featuring two methyl groups and two highly reactive chlorine atoms bonded to silicon. As one of the most important monomers in organosilicon chemistry, DMC serves as the primary building block for polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS), silicone oils, rubbers, resins, and specialty intermediates like D4 and DMC cyclics. Its high reactivity enables efficient hydrolysis and condensation for scalable silicone production.

    USi-6227 is a core intermediate in the entire methyl silicone value chain:

    • Undergoes rapid hydrolysis with water to form linear and cyclic silanols, which then condense into PDMS polymers
    • Primary feedstock for producing D4 (octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane) and D3/D5 cyclics—key monomers for high-molecular-weight silicones
    • Used directly in the synthesis of silicone oilssilicone rubberssilicone resins, and modified silicones
    • Also employed in the manufacture of high-strength, heat-resistant carbon fiber composites via surface functionalization

    ⚠️ Critical Note: DMC is extremely moisture-sensitive, corrosive, and toxic. It reacts violently with water, releasing hydrogen chloride (HCl) gas. It is not a coupling agent—but exclusively an industrial chemical intermediate for controlled synthesis under anhydrous conditions.
