USI silane coupling agents help enhance the durability of external walls in buildings, bridges and other infrastructure. USI's water - repellent and anti - fouling silanes can be used in solvent - based or water - based systems, providing formulation flexibility required to meet volatile organic compound (VOC) and ease - of - use requirements.
Silane coupling agents can improve the adhesion between glass fibers and resins, significantly enhancing the strength, electrical properties, water resistance, weather resistance and other performance characteristics of glass fiber-reinforced composites. Even in wet conditions, they play a remarkably significant role in boosting the mechanical properties of the composites.
Silane coupling agents are mainly used as crosslinking agents and tackifiers in wires and cables, endowing the materials with the following properties: improving the thermal deformation stability and mechanical strength of the modified materials, enhancing the wet electrical properties of the modified materials, boosting the chemical resistance of the modified materials, and increasing the addition amount of fillers while improving processability.
Silane coupling pretreatment technology is characterized by its environmental friendliness and strong operability. As a metal surface pretreatment layer, the silane film not only improves the surface condition of the substrate and enhances the adhesion between the coating and the substrate, but also can be used as an independent protective coating, which acts as a physical barrier against the penetration of corrosive media.
